The typical rule of thumb that's worked well for nearly 3 decades of preparing HoneyBaked Hams is to calculate approximately 0.33 lbs. and multiply that by the number of guests you anticipate will be dining with you.
For example, if you plan to have half a dozen guests... Multiply 0.33 by the quantity in your dinner party (0.33 x 6), which would equal 1.98 lbs. You would need about 2 lbs. of ham total (excluding the weight of the ham bone) to feed all those hungry mouths!
